The drand network launch has been successfully completed.
Our api3.drand.sh endpoint has been enabled but transparently failed over to the api.drand.sh endpoint. This means that this endpoints will suffer for the time being a performance latency, but it should be safe to use in drand clients along with the others.

Verifying
The second PL endpoint (api2.drand.sh) is now fully operative. We are verifying the full setup (including gossipsub relays) and will complete the maintenance once we ensure everything is working smoothly.

The mainnet network will be relaunched with 9 nodes and a threshold of 5.
It was decided that Protocol Labs mainnet3 node will join the network in the next resharing. The endpoint for mainnet 3 (api3.drand.sh) will not be available until then. The other two endpoints should become available today after the network launch.

The drand mainnet setup ceremony is planned from 14 UTC to 16 UTC. Once it is complete, we will proceed to launch the API endpoints serving this network, including pubsub relays.

We are now starting with the drand relaunch maintenance.
As a first step, we will decommission the legacy mainnet node. This will bring down the current drand.protocol.ai API endpoint. The new API endpoints will be launched tomorrow along with the new network, which will be started from scratch.

On this maintenance window the Drand mainnet will be relaunched from scratch. New partners will be onboarded, drand versions upgraded and randomness generation will be fully reset. There will be network downtime until the process has completed.
Protocol Lab's API endpoints will change and infrastructure will be brought up in line with the current testnet.
We expect to start taking down the current network by the start of the maintenance window and have a fully launched network by the end of it.
